THE PROPERTY
Villa Hebald is located 45 minutes away from Rome Fiumicino airport and only 25 miles away from central historic Rome in the region famous its rich Etruscan past.
The private, gated property, built at the end of the 1960s consists of a large country Villa made of local tufa stone, surrounded by a beautiful ten acre (4 hectares) garden and meadow, which includes a semicircular seating area similar to a Roman amphitheatre. The entire complex has a breathtaking view over Lake Bracciano. And throughout the property are statues by the famous American artist, former co-owner: Milton Hebald.

THE HILLS OF THE ARTISTS
Villa Hebald has been in fact the former residence of the famous American sculptor Milton Hebald between 1970 to 2004 and his wife Cecille Rosner Hebald, who painted the surrounding countryside.
In the same period other great Italian artists as Lorenzo Vespignani and Ugo Attardi established their residences and working studios on two adjacent properties.

World famous English author, poet, playwright, and Hebald family friend, Anthony Burgess, lived just few hundred yards away in the old medieval town of Bracciano. They were all inspired by the beauty of the location, with the view of the lake, Mount Soratte and the Odescalchi castle where Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes were married. These hills being home of so many famous artists were known as "le colline degli artisti": the hills of the artists.

THE RENOVATION
The daughter of the artists, architect Margo Hebald, recently restored the property without modifying the original country style.
She did every effort to keep intact the romantic atmosphere of the property, built with passion and dedication by Milton and his painter, and renown hostess, Cecille Hebald.
During the renovation, particular attention was paid to keep intact the beautiful landscape, which is home to hundreds of umbrella pines, cypress trees, olive trees, eucalyptus, oaks, roses, lilies, and meadows, which surround the villa and artist’s studio.

Villa Hebald is truly an enchanting and unique, event destination location which is easily accessible by train, plane or car.
